Venture deep into the fjord country of Lysebotn with a high-speed RIB-Safari leading into a breathtaking minibus tour.

Discover Fjord Country

Embark on an extraordinary daytrip with our ‘Lysebotn RIB-Expedition’, a unique combination of thrilling RIB-safari, scenic strolls, and mountainside exploration. Begin with an exhilarating boat voyage through the entire Lysefjord to the idyllic village of Lysebotn, where you’ll switch to our comfortable minibus for an intimate journey across the surrounding peaks and valleys. This adventure will take you across winding mountain roads, fascinating historic sites, and breathtaking vantage points where you can capture stunning photos and soak in the untamed beauty of Norway’s fjord country.  As you traverse the magnificent landscapes, our expert local guide will be your storyteller, sharing tales of the farmers who carved out a living in the challenging terrain, and the hydropower industry that came and went.

Through the Heart of the Fjord: The expedition begins with an exhilarating RIB-boat ride that takes you through the entire length of the Lysefjord, revealing towering cliffs, thundering waterfalls, and some of Norway's most incredible natural wonders along the way.

Explore Lysebotn: Disembark in the charming, secluded village of Lysebotn, once a bustling hydropower settlement, now a picturesque summer retreat surrounded by towering mountains and stunning fjord views.

Discover Fjord Country: Hop into a minibus and venture out into the spectacular fjord wilderness, ascending the famous 27 hairpin bends of Lysevegen to the Eagle’s Nest—a remarkable café that truly lives up to its name, both in looks and location—perched at the cliff’s edge, overlooking a breathtaking panorama of the fjord below.

Historic Trails: Journeying onward, you’ll step back in time as you hike to Kaldahålå, a historic cave used to cool provisions in the days before refrigeration. From there, visit Kongesteinen, a massive rock that served as a favored resting spot for a Viking chieftain on his travels.

Kjeragbolten Panorama: Conclude your travels with a final ascent past the impressive Lysebotn Dam, reaching a stunning plateau directly opposite the world-famous Kjeragbolten. From here, marvel at the legendary boulder from an extraordinary vantage point and keep an eye out for daring BASE jumpers leaping from the towering cliffs above.
